TOUCHING BASE

I will update in awhile.

SKETCH JOURNAL ENTRY – CRAB

NO ENERGY TODAY

Some days are like that. I tried to create a quick drawing out of my imagination to illustrate how empty the house feels for a day after there has been company and then they have left.

This is suppose to represent the end of the party.

or …something like that.

Let’s see if I can explain it better. When you have people staying over for a few days they bring their “aura” or energy with them. But then when they depart, part of the energy is still there, but not enough to sustain their presence… but it is an odd feeling, like the walls haven’t quite released them yet so the house feels a little strange or empty.

It’s been a busy month and actually I can hardly keep my eyes open. I think I need to catch some sleep.

See ya.

Oops I had to come back and get my wine. I left it by the chair.

TODAY’S SKETCH ENTRY – RELAXATION

We’ve been very busy with family for the last couple of weekends (which I enjoyed), but tomorrow, after having the grandkids this week, is my day to relax. I am not going to do anything but contemplate the peace.

And after I’ve contemplated the peace, then I will get up and clean the toilets.

JAPANESE MOLESKIN SKETCH GROUP

A LINK to a group of artists from around the world who participate in a Japanese fold Moleskine sketchbook exchange. I haven’t had time yet to really enjoy this site, but I think it will be interesting.

There is a place on the net that sells Japanese moleskine books and they are very inexpensive, plus they fold out with pleated pages.

I read about this at Freekhand blog plus he has some other links to flicker site and other artists who are participating.

I just thought a few of you might find this interesting.

SHOULD ANYBODY WISH TO TRY

You can hang a painting in a museum

I wanted to try it with one of my older drawings so I chose the sunflower.

ANOTHER PARAKEET

Colored pencil in my sketchbook.

I always enjoy drawing parakeets.

My sister has been here but going home today. I was surprised I actually had time for a little art.

But..the kids kept us busy and we enjoyed watching the cousins together.

NO ART TONIGHT

But a link to one of the best colored pencil artists I’ve seen. Go here
to see it.

I did draw something but didn’t get it photographed to put up. It wasn’t that good so maybe I will tomorrow or not.

JUST TOO BUSY

To do anything new.

Two older ones, top one with acrylic, when I was first starting to paint, just something I made up.

A drawing of Cayden, my grandson, when he was smaller.

YA WANNA SEE SOME GORGEOUS REFLECTIONS

I have been stopping by her blog, (Ilse)… and look at this painting. I know CM will love it.

Her blog is definitely worth a look through…

and of course, NY Frame of Mind, Miro has some beautiful reflections in his work lately. Both of their styles are so unique to them.

And I think Cat’s Momma Art, Daily Scribbles and been using lots of vibrant colors lately that I have enjoyed. Going back a few posts, some fun children’s illustrations also.

WINGS AND WINGS

And that’s about it for tonight.

A SCENE FROM MY WALK

Quickly scribbled out and scribbled is definitely what this is.

It’s been awhile since I’ve even opened my sketch book.

Behind our house we go either east or west and then usually head north. When we take this one path, every spring this tree is in bloom and it immediately puts me in a mood for walking.

There is a house that sits behind all the trees and you can just see the roof top.

We finally have some sun and our weekend will be up in the 90’s.

Good walking weather.

M got me a new camera because the zoom on my old camera is basically not working.

I need to read the instruction book (which is daunting) and once I know how to navigate this thing I will be so excited to try and photograph birds.

We took a long hike the other day and as the altitude increased, the birds, butterflies, plants were all different than what I see at my house. This is going to be fun!!

PUTTING UP A CARTOON I DID OF MYSELF

And had posted at my old blog.
This was to represent the two sides of me, slouchy, mismatched, poor posture, and the fashionable (hahahaha) me, well at least I’m not that mismatched.

It was done quickly and sloppily, oh well.

I’m running out of images on this laptop to post of older art. I’ll have to dig into my other laptop soon, if I don’t start drawing something new.

I THINK THIS IS ARTSY ENOUGH FOR MY ART BLOG

I found this photo I took a year ago and had applied a “mosaic” effect in photoshop.

I love this shot and had already just posted it at my nature blog, but I want to use it as a new image here today.

And I’m hoping tomorrow to try a sketch of this.

AGAIN, HAVING TO POST AN OLDER DRAWING

What a busy week we have had, and finally about 4:30 this afternoon, had the first quiet hours all week.

I couldn’t get the motivation, inspiration or energy to draw tonight…my apologies to my little everyday art blog.. I have ignored you.

We may have our granddaughter tomorrow so not sure if I can get anything drawn until tomorrow night.
