THE PURPLE COW

Several weeks ago I went to one of my
favorite thrift stores. I was on a quest. I had decided, after finding my first piggy bank about a month and a half ago, that I would buy one for each grand hild and keep it at the house. I was really excited when upon arriving at the Salvation Army in Azusa I walked in and she was sitting on a shelf. She looked right at me with those soulful eyes and “moo’d” a hello.I couldn’t help but purchase her and bring her home.
Now I knew she was somewhat valuable because she was in the special “boutique” section of the thrift store. There is a quickening of the pulse when you enter the “boutique” because you KNOW with an amazing certainty, almost a fore-knowledge of destiny, that you will be vibrationally matched to an awesome treasure and the two of you will travel together through time and space UNTIL for whatever reason, you are then destined to part ways.
I’ve often contemplated what purpose something or someone, has in my life at any given time. I’ve thought about the randomness and chaotic nature of the universe and, really, have spent many sleepless nights in deep meditation trying to unravel the meaning of a particular person’s appearance in my life or an event that although its’ appearance into my life seemed random, looking back, how important it was in changing a direction I was traveling.
Okay, not to get sidetracked, so back to my point.
I lost my point. Oh yeah..this is how my mind works and I would just like to share what I deal with every morning. Now most of you probably wake up with the thought that possibly you have an ache or pain here or there, or, a cup of coffee sounds good, ….or you are feeling slightly spacey from being caught up in a dream that seemed real. Not me!! I wake up with creative projects lined up for the day, out of the blue, unbeckoned by me, they just intrude upon my awakening consciousness.
So this morning as I’m “coming to” the thought comes to me that I will get up and start a series of paintings with the theme being piggy banks. I will paint a piggy bank for every day of the month of March, and to top it off, if I’m successful with this, I could even extend this into April, May (forget June, my granddaughter is due to be born), and …oh heck forget the rest of the year as I will be up to my eyebrows in grandkids…
The reason I’m sharing this is to not only share a little more of myself and what I’m about, but to also suggest very strongly that you GO VISIT this wonderful art site. I love this idea and this artist does BEAUTIFUL work.
