A friend of mine emailed

me about my Audrey Hepburn posts. She said that she thought Audrey was involved in some kind of foundation to do with wildlife, hence, the tie-in with the zebra possibly.

So after completing some yard work for the day I came back in to do a search on Audrey Hepburn and Zebras. Actually Audrey was connected with Unicef and was in Africa many times to bring attention to the plight of the children there (well..I guess like Angelina Jole)…But it wasn’t Audrey I found that was connected to zebras, it was her character Holly Golightly in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. So somehow here is another piece of the puzzle. I took this pic the other day when I cleaned my office and then we headed off to the mall, where I took that first Audrey photo…And as you can see, there is the zebra rug. Holly Golightly had a zebra throw rug in the movie.

So I’m still waiting…what is THE message. Other than my unseen friends are having some fun with me.

Could it be to go ahead with the ebay idea. I’m not sure. That doesn’t feel like it. But I’ll sit with that idea.

In the meantime, I’m anxious to just follow the clues.

In the past, it never took me this long to come up with the answer.

The Way of the Zebra

This is a publicity photo from the movie Breakfast….and here she is inside eating breakfast at Tiffanys.

Why did I put this up.

I was outside in the front yard talking to B…John’s girlfriend about a half hour ago. I was talking with her and she was telling me how she sells her used textbooks on line, which lead to a conversation about Ebay, which led to me telling her that I have often wondered if I could run a little business for myself by selling stuff on eBay.

She was telling me about a particular product she has made and sold on Ebay (having to do with purses and jewelry) and it had to do with some Jewelry from Tiffanys…probably bought at the local Tiffanys out here.

I was then reminiscing about how when Mike had to go to New York on business years ago he brought me home a ring from the original Tiffany’s in New York. I was describing it and such and then (light bulb comes on) realized the topic of our conversation had shifted to Tiffany’s and well…before I knew it, had connected some more dots to Audrey.

I’m still waiting to see where this ends up..

Taking a break at home

and then the old man has to mow. Poor guy. He mowed our lawns and then went over and surprised our son and mowed his.

I started the yearly clean up around the gazebo (lots of leaves) and noticed these beauties blooming.

I have lots more images from the hike but no one needs to see THAT much of any mountains or us..LOL

Today we are hanging around doing yard stuff, will see Cayden, hopefully get a walk in and that’s our Friday…

First moments of hitting the top. Whew!!!!

Posted by Picasa

Made it to the top. This was the goal. If you continue to your right, there is much more road to travel but up here is considered party hill. Next time we do this, I’m hoping we can make it farther in and eventually down into the streams. We will definitely need to plan for this and to take some water and snacks. They put his blockade across after too many kids fell off the mountain while partying. And, also because of fire threat.

We use to sit down below on our patio and watch the search and rescues. Years ago there were no houses behind our house and we had a straight view up the hill. The helicopters would land in the field behind us as the ambulances would transport people from the helicopter to the ambulance. This happened several times every summer.

Mike looking towards the top.

Cropped this pic up close so you can see my house from this angle.

Still climbing.

The road going up to the top.

I put an arrow in this pic above. We are not even halfway up at this point.

This is a view of the canyon down below where we hike sometimes. There are streams down there. At this point we still have a steep climb to the top.

Taking a break so one more post

I put the camera on the fence post and ran..I had 10 seconds, to get in the picture. The camera was pretty far away but I had zoomed in a bit. Don’t know how I ended up in this position…but …

We hope you follow us up the hill because it is a steep climb…Cats Momma can verify. We took this just in case one of us had a heart attack on the way up so we would have one last picture together, LOL…We found an interesting trail on the way up with a stump that looked like a bear and got some great pictures of peoples’ backyards.

I’m bagging leaves and then we are off to dinner. I might just get that Dos Equis tonight..

Hey Mike

Before we head up party hill, look over there… is that what I think it is.

Aww Geez

Are you kidding me. Party Hill!

The only reason I saw the beer carton

Was this orange flower caught my attention and we totally changed direction in our hiking. Had we not, I probably would not have seen the beer carton, would not have ended up going towards party hill and would not have conquered party hill, which has been a big looming challenge to Mike and I. At one point he said he was worried about me as we were climbing the hill (I guess I was really panting….hahaha)…but I knew it was a personal challenge and once I had started it I had to keep going.

But being the fashion conscious person I am…LOL…

Is it any wonder I dressed in my DosEquis best.

The rest of the story

When we go out and take the baby anywhere, we do not drink. Well one of us may have a beer, but the one who is driving has nothing. That’s a big rule with us. So we go up to Lytle Creek and Wrightwood yesterday, John, Mike and I. We have the baby with us. We go into this restaurant and I say to the guys, go ahead and relax with a beer and I will drive home.

They get one of my favorite beers, Newcastle and it is ice cold. I had one sip and would have loved to have a bottle but since we had baby doll, I was designated driver and I stuck with my pepsi..

I did tell them though…After I’m drinking my coke, that my favorite beer of ALL TIME is Dos Equis.

John says he doesn’t really care for it.

I say, well I love it.

I think to myself but didn’t say anything to them, that next time I go to the store I am going to buy a 12 pack just to keep in the refrigerator for those rare times, because it is rare that I want a beer, after yard work or a good hike that I might want to have a cold one.

So here is my coke and here is the menu from the restaurant, which is the same place I took the pic of Audrey H. in the restroom.

So that is why below I posted the pics of me with the beer carton.

AHAAA!!!! Even more synchronicity

Okay, the zebra has been very playful lately. I’m going to post these first. Then I’ll explain in the next post.

Number one, do you see how I’m color-matched with the Dos Equis Beer carton.

We headed out today on our walk. We went about ten minutes when we came upon this beautiful work of art (the Dos Equis)…

I had to have my pics taken with it.

Now I actually match it perfectly because if you could see my eyes behind these sunglasses there you would find the red, so there is blue, green, red. The red eyes is because I woke up today with some allergy stuff and they were itching earlier.

L if you are reading this, we made it all of the way to the top of party hill. We didn’t intend to do it as we headed out west to the canyon but then decided to tackle it today. Of course, we only had one small bottle of water between the two of us.

But back to the story. We could have found a Budlight box, Coors Light Box, Michelobe box…but we found Dos Equis.

That is the key part to the story, as well as my color match up. Now I’ll go post the rest.

But I do love synchronicity..and Auntie Z says to spot a zebra is surely magical.

Another thing…Teletubbies was on the morning show, the Today show today, revealing their identity…

I hate those guys.

Now why this morning of all days were they on, just two days after professing my total dislike of them in another post.

And it was the same day I saw Audrey…

Okay things are coalescing into something..

Self portrait

My dad painted this portrait of himself when he was in his 60’s. I can’t remember if I posted this on the old blog, One Acre Plot.

We are heading out in a few minutes to go hike/walk out in back of the house and when I get back I plan to do some yard work. It is a gorgeous day here, especially after the freak weather we had the last few days. I heard there was even tornados in LA somewhere.

I haven’t given up on the idea of creating a blog for my father’s story. I keep so busy that it will have to be something I do after 10 o’clock at night. I use to be able to stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning, but that is when I was really into painting and drawing. I can barely make it past 10:30, although at some point I wake up and watch TV from midnight on for an hour or so. Maybe I could fit it in then, LOL.

I have a self-portrait he did of himself when he was in his 70’s. I need to find a photo of that and post it also.

I thought he did a great job on this one. When I was cleaning my office a couple days ago I saw this on the wall and took a picture of it so I could post it on the blog.

More Audrey

So we stop in a restaurant in Wrightwood to eat. To back track, at the mall yesterday, I saw a poster of Audrey Hepburn that I took a photo of, then last night as I’m doing a search on the computer for something completely not Audrey Hepburn related, I come to a website where they have a whole page devoted to Audrey Hepburn art.

Today, needed to use the restroom at this place we stopped to eat and as I enter the bathroom there on the wall is this painting of Audrey. And..Look at the black and white stripes. This is from My Fair Lady. Of course I had to go back to the table to get my camera and take a picture of it.

Just an amusing synchronicity going on.
