My eyes, his eyes, and little eyes

The eyes went hiking today.

And so enjoyed what they saw

*******
so I thought I would share all our eyes
*************
My eyes are like a finely tuned metal detector

although my eyes don’t detect metal

they detect bugs, birds, flowers, and even discarded trash

along the path.

Cayden is "styling" in his new jean shorts

I love long shorts on little kids, so couldn’t resist buying him a pair.

Some scenes around San Luis Obispo

I have better views of this museum, this is just the first one I came across in the picture file. I love the architecture on this building.

This area is near the mission of San Luis Obispo. There was a wedding going on the day we were there so I couldn’t take pics. Outside of the mission across a greenbelt area is lots of little outdoor cafes and shops. There is a stream running through this area. Those red umbrellas are on the other side of the stream.

Reminds me of my hometown in Kansas City

There is no better feeling to me, than a down home type of feeling.

I was born and raised in a small neighborhood in the suburbs of Kansas City, Kansas. I lived there until I was 10. The thing that always struck me the most when I got to California was that no one had fences between their properties in Kansas. Neighbors could walk right across their back yard to yours and share their pies or cookies. And…laundry was always being hung on the clothes line, except when it rained or snowed.

Walking through Arroyo Grande reminded me of my home town. This bottom pic is a close up of the top pics. That yard just looks so inviting.

I’m wondering how many were born in small towns and still live there. I last went back home in 1987. I still loved it. When I visited Prescott, Arizona, I was struck by the fact that it reminded me of every town I ever lived in or visited. As we were driving away from Prescott, there was a sign that said “You are leaving Everybody’s home town.” Well..that explained why it seemed so familar. I hope to go back to Prescott some day soon for a few days.

The stream runs through the town

Prescott, Arizona also has a stream that runs through the town.

This one is below the swinging bridge which takes you from one part of town to the other.

There is a lot of graffiti down there along the walls, and I could tell it is a favorite hangout for kids. There were quite a few teenagers hanging around, no doubt getting into trouble…oh yeah, I know how those teenagers are….

FAUX PAS

So I go to the thrift store one day and found a cat blouse. I don’t have cats so I know I won’t wear it, but to me its’ a work of art. Look at these cats painted with watercolor. They are just beautiful I’m thinking… So I purchase this blouse, not for me but for Cat’s Momma…my sis..

But, I had to get my 2 bucks worth out of the deal. Not only is it a shirt but underneath there is a T-shirt that is white with even more beautifully painted cats…

You better bet I’m going to wear it first.

The tags were still on this.

I got it for 2 bucks, plus it was senior citizen day…hahahah, I got a 20 cent discount…(If someone told me a few years ago I would be blogging about this stuff..I would have laughed in your face…and a huge apology to my sons that they now have such a weird mom. I’m so sorry. )

Anyway, I take it up to my sister’s place and decide I’ll wear it to the s trawberry festival. These kind of events attract all kinds so I figure I’ll fit in.

So my sister is duly impressed when I don the blouse and off we go. We park way up a hill and have to walk down to get to the festival. I am walking ahead and thinking she is just behind me.

Well she is actually behind this couple, at the time I make my faux pas. I am chatting away to her, even though she isn’t there, and telling her how I think these cats are just adorable and isn’t this a good buy. The guy then speaks up and says, “Yeah I kind of like it, I agree, you got a deal..” I turn back and she is way behind them laughing and then she catches up and they are all having a belly laugh. How rude!~~

And I did leave the blouse with her.

But knowing her she will come on and say she hates it..right, come on…I dare you..tell the truth L, you love it don’t you…

You know, I need to keep my eye on you L
