I wonder if I should be fashionably late

I’m so pleased to be invited over to S’s house. What a gal she is!! And..she is such a great hostess.

I decided on margaritas, do you mind?

On the rocks though, not slushy…and I tried the first one…it was good….Strawberry or Italian margaritas…your choice..

I thought I should make it a little more festive since you are dropping by

But would you prefer the simpler feel.

I haven’t put the wine out yet but I need to do, white or red.

or just plain ole Boone’s farm…hehe.

I got the shades at Target….

waiting for thoreau

Why the title, I don’t know.

Just seemed that after I “created” the scene it should be entitled “waiting”…for something to begin…

dinner party

church meeting at someone’s house

candle party

romantic evening

alone meditating on the moon

or

waiting for thoreau

MACKENZIE 2 MONTHS OLD

This was her first “formal” portrait. We saw her for awhile today and it was great. Her mommy brought this photo over for us.

Of course Gramma got a bunch of her own photos of her too.

I can’t believe how much she has developed in two months. I know it happens but with each baby its’ like a brand new experience, from birth to 2 months… They are reactive and responsive at this age and smiling a lot.

Humans are amazing with all they learn in 2 months.

What a cutie.

just a suggestion..for a drawing challenge

I’ll be posting pics here and there that maybe we can choose from if no one else offers up a challenge.

It is almost too hot to do anything but sit around and draw

I figured since I love bird watching so much, its’ time to learn how to draw them. I found a book on bird ABC’s at the thrift store so picked the first three of many I hope to draw. I had found a book on how to do bird illustrations that I purchased, but it was too hot to go looking for it.

I’m waiting for someone else to name the next challenge. CC chose the shell, I chose the lizard and I’m hoping some one else joins in with a challenge.

Negative Image seashell looks like a crystal

I think I like this better.

CC: Can’t wait for you to get Corel up and running…then we can REALLY have fun..

Posted by Picasa

challenge done

Newton Ink on watercolor paper, little bit of white acrylic cause I couldn’t find masking fluid.

At least I got it done…

I haven’t ever tried a seashell before, they are not easy.

This guy watched me draw the lizard all morning

We chatted for awhile.

I asked him to let me have a closer view of his face.

He complied….

Then he asked me if I didn’t think this was his better side.

Oh yes…very lovely.

and about 3/4 of the way through I was going to leave it like this

and just glow it up a little in Picasa….I think I prefer this version over all of them..I just hit black and white in Picasa…

Posted by Picasa

part of the process,

Let’s see, I think I sat in every corner of the yard while working on this…

Frustration…

getting to be a little more fun…

Fun but something is amiss..

my drawing got out of whack…lost my way with all those scales..couldn’t keep the shape going well..

The first one I posted was for CC, basically no manip

But this one is for me. I can’t help myself. I have to make it look more finished.
Posted by Picasa

Here is the overworked little bugger

CC: The only manip I did on it was in Picasa where I did a black and white w/focal color…The color I had on the whole thing was just TOOOOO much.

Now…I get to go play and see what I can do with digital manipulation.

Oh yeah, I will post the WIP in a little bit…well at least the starting sketches…

I didn’t, then I did, and then I didn’t enjoy this…

Posted by Picasa
Ps. I call it overworked because it started with pencil, then with some pen, then colored pencil watercolors and then I started to spread the watercolor pencils and it started to get muddy…so it’s mixed media I guess.
and I’m glad I’m done.
What’s the next challenge….make it easy okay…haha

aarrrggggggg

*&*)&*&!!#&)&^^&&&****

Fool that I am…Challenge…bah humbug…!!!!

arrrrgggggg.

I need new glasses I think.

or a spotlight. a big one..hovering right over my drawing table.

quick guy sketch (really quick) just wanted an outline

became a girl once I took it over to Corel.
